Information Services
The Information Services Department is located on the first floor of the Library just inside the main entrance and adjacent to the LWC Productivity . The Information Services Desk is open during all Library hours of operation.
The Information Services Department serves as the Library’s principal information gateway and is responsible for critical activities such as providing frontline reference services, assisting with research, and facilitating referrals to appropriate individuals, departments or organizations. Librarians in the ISD serve as subject librarians to schools, departments, or colleges on campus and provide library classes and orientations, as well as one-on-one consultations. Support is provided via in-person, via email, over the phone, and through chat.

If Georgia Tech doesn’t have the materials that you need, we can help you find and borrow them from other libraries.

Research Assistance
For in-depth assistance, we have subject specialists that can assist students in any subject discipline. These librarians serve as liaisons for the various schools, departments, and colleges on campus, and can provide one-on-one research help.

Information Instruction
Informaton Services provides library information sessions on various topics, including:
- Course/project specific classes in collaboration with teaching faculty
- General sessions – on the Catalog, database searching, SFX
- Software sessions – Dreamweaver, Endnote, LaTeX,
- Orientations to the Library’s services & policies

Technology Support
In coordination with staff and students from the Office of Information Technology, Library Information Associates provide technology assistance to hardware and software in the Library West Commons, including support for printing, GT wireless configuration, and GT account management. After midnight we are the sole source of Technology support in the LWC.
